FG Set to Arraign ABD Energy Solutions MD, Kenneth Amadi for 2.9bn Fraud

The N2 9bn fraud trial of Kenneth Amadi, CEO of ABD Energy Solutions Limited before the Federal High Court in Lagos will commence January 8th 2020.

Amadi is alleged to have obtained the sum of N2.9bn belonging to his former employer, Eunisell Limited, by false pretence with intent to defraud, from A-Z Petroleum and AMMASCO International Ltd.
The offences are contrary to section 1(1)(a) of the Advance Fee Fraud and other fraud related offences Act, CapA6, laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004 and punishable under section 1(3) of the same Act.
When the matter was called for hearing, the 1st defendant was absent, while the 2nd defendant, IDID Nigeria Limited was represented by an employee.
Chief State Counsel from the Department of Public Prosecutions of the Federation, A.K Aliyu, informed the court that attempts were made to serve the charge on the 1st Defendant through his counsel but the lawyer from the office of the learned silk declined to accept service.
However, the defendants counsel, Emeka Etiaba (SAN), told the court that they are not opposing arraignment and trial, adding it was an error of communication on the part of the junior colleague regarding the issue of acceptance of service.
He then accepted the charge and court summons of behalf of the 1st defendant.
The charges against the Defendants includes receiving and obtaining by false pretence, with intent to defraud, the sum of Two Billion, Nine Hundred Million Naira (2,900,000,000) belonging to Eunisell Ltd, from A-Z Petroleum Ltd and AMMASCO International Ltd; omitting making full and true entry thereof in the books and accounts; suppression of data in respect of the financial transfer to Eunisell Ltd; and converting same amount without authority to create sufficient deposits to promote the credibility of his own company (Idid Nigeria Limited).

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
